FORMER Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison has revealed he wants to “rebuild” his career at new club Ostersunds – and that he is an Arsenal fan.
Morrison, 26, joined the Swedish club this week and met up with his new team-mates at their training base in Marbella.
And he is desperate to put the struggles of the last few years behind him to reignite his career.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Morrison said: “I’ve come here to rebuild myself really. I want to enjoy it and enjoy football again and win everything we can.
“It’s exciting and I’m really looking forward to everything that’s in front of me.
“We have got a decent team, it’s a decent set-up and I have met all the group and it has been nice.”
Morrison came through the ranks at Manchester United alongside Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, making his first-team debut in October 2010.
Sir Alex Ferguson rated Morrison – an England Under-21 international – so highly that he thought he was better than Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs when they were younger.
But his career took a downward spiral as he struggled on and off the pitch. He joined West Ham but was shipped out on loan to Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff before signing for Lazio in 2015.
Another loan to QPR followed and he spent last season at Atlas in Mexico, having what he described as “one of his best seasons”.
Asked more about his background and career so far, Morrison added: “I’m just a young, humble person from Manchester. I’m hoping to come here and win everything we can and do the best I can.
“I’ve been at a few big teams before and enjoyed my time in football, it’s been great. I’m looking forward to the new chapter. I’m 26 and looking to push on now.
“I have been at West Ham, Manchester United, Lazio. Obviously the English sides for me are the best. I was also in Mexico last season. That was unbelievable, that was one of the best seasons I’ve had in football and loved every moment.”
Few would have known too much about Ostersunds before they faced Arsenal in the Europa League this time last year, shocking the Gunners and beating them 2-1 at the Emirates.

Although Arsene Wenger’s team progressed because they won the first leg 3-0 in Sweden.
At the end of last season, manager Graham Potter ended his eight-year stay to take the job at Swansea.
But it was the Europa League win that had a particular impact on Morrison – who admitted he did not enjoy it… because he is a Gooner.
He said: “Now I’m with you guys. This team beat my team as well, it wasn’t a great day when it happened being an Arsenal fan because I wasn’t linked with you then, but now it is all about thinking positive and looking forward to this new chapter.”
